Living Origami
After attending the national origami convention in New York in the summer of 2013 I started to wonder if I could do a stopmotion short with origami. While on vacation I birthed an idea for such a film. Unfortunately, that idea has yet to be realized, but I did manage to produce a test as ideas of origami animation swirled around in my mind. This is that test. Captured my the simplicity of Roman Diaz's little toad, I brought it to life on my iPad as it folded itself on the dock in Michigan. In the summer of 2014 it won an award for best animation at the Valley College Film Festival.
